We invite you to visit Thunder Bay’s only truly urban Ojibway cultural workshop centre, located in the Thunder Bay Centre of Change (Old Hillcrest School), Room 411. Weshkaday is not only a sacred and historical haven in the middle of the city, but also extremely accessible.
Experience the rich history, culture and teachings of Canada’s First People. Through all seasons, we offer groups of 20 interactive experiences of Cultural teachings, traditional Ojibway foods, storytelling with activities that are intended to offer interest and artistic ways by means of fun-filled events. Also offered are hands-on and observing the Ojibway teachings through learning. The workshops will focus on key culture teachings, for example cultural skills, tool making, arts & crafts, ceremonies, Medicine Wheel and Sharing Circles to name a few.
